So for this morning, I had a plan: doing a ring following a local railroad. I knew there was a trail from the main road to the first cache, but it wasn’t on any map in my possession: luckily, the owner of the cache wrote a good amount of directions to reach it. The light in the woods was amazing, and in fall the colors are astonishing.
It was our first real walk with the dog (it’ very young), but it had really no issues going through the woods, even if it was a bit scared of downhill steeps!
Arrived at GZ we quickly found the container: the venting well was really interesting, and when the train passed, it shot out so much air, that it seemed a geyser!
I also managed to shot a quick video using my new action-cam attached to a stick (since the well was pretty high):
Unfortunately, from here it was impossible to reach the second cache because there was a mountain in the middle!
During our travel back a group of workers was doing maintenance on the railroad wall attached to an iron rope!
Back to the main road, we moved a little nearer to Crespino and we did a little walk to the second cache of the day. This old tollbooth was really scenic.
From here we could see two galleries going through the mountain.
Back to the car, we moved to Crespino for the last cache. Passed a bridge we reach GZ, where a little fountain was waiting for us.
And that’s all for today! Next week, I will probably go for the “Baita dei Prati Piani”. The trail starts exactly at Crispino!
